Make the most of your Coolicon Lampshade for brighter living spaces
Intended to be hung low, Coolicon® lampshades are the perfect choice for bringing extra light into any room, big or small. Due to their iconic vented design, hanging these wonderful lights low allows for more ambient light to fill the room while casting direct task lighting faultlessly below. For the most comfortable and effective lighting, as a general rule we suggest the gallery vents of this classic light should be positioned just above eyeline in the area of use. This ensures for optimum lighting without being dazzled by the bulb.

Comfortable dining light
Original 1933™ Design
Hung just above eyeline, this creates comfortable lighting without any glare. To create a statement over a large table we recommend hanging odd numbers of Original 1933™ Design lampshades.
As a rough guide these can be aligned to table settings.
Tip: Swap out the middle lampshade for an Underground Original 1933™ Design lampshade to spark conversation over dinner.
Large 1933™ Design
We recommend a single Large 1933 Design™ lampshade for over round or square dining tables, this provides ample ambient light for your room and a comfortable cone of light over your table.
For longer tables we recommend hanging the Large 1933 Design™ lampshades in pairs to provide a suitable amount of downward light. For longer tables odd numbers also work well.
We would recommend one lampshade for two place settings, with the lampshade positioned between place settings.

Original 1933™ Design
The Original 1933™ Design lampshade is synonymous with focused work and providing the perfect light to facilitate a healthy working environment. These lampshades were historically used by engineers - from the large drawing offices of Harland and Wolff (designers of the Titanic) to small pioneering engineering offices like those of Donald Bailey (inventor or the Bailey bridge).
We recommend the Original 1933™ Design lampshade, with its crisp cone of light below, to be positioned centrally or just to the side of the hand that you don’t write with. This creates a shadow-free weighting/sketching surface.
