The Colossus is Coolicon’s largest vitreous enamel pendant lampshade, handmade in England. In Original Green, a deep forest green that reads near-black at dusk, it measures Ø575mm × 315mm and weighs approx. 3.0kg. It’s designed for dining tables and large kitchens, and gives soft ambient up-light plus a focused cone of task light below. The brass E27 suspension set with support is included.

Enamel Ceiling Cup - With beautiful symmetry, our white Vitreous Enamel ceiling cups mirror the iconic gallery of our lampshades, both in size and shape. Made from the same high-grade steel and finished in durable matching white vitreous enamel.
Brass lamp holders - Our signature brass lamp holder is designed to last for decades, just like our lampshades. Imprinted with “Coolicon” around the holder, this set is sure to place your shade centre stage.
Support Cable – Our electrically insulated black stainless steel support cable, paired with black rubber cable tidies, keeps the lampshade securely suspended while blending discreetly into the suspension set.
Cable Type: With a natural sheen, our finely overbraided black fabric cable ensures your lampshade hangs with that extra touch of detail and class.
Adjustable drop length: Min 16cm – Max 180cm.

Its large presence fills a room with generous ambient light - a result of the lightbulb sitting higher in the larger gallery opening - while below, the shade casts a more defined, focused cone of task light. Sharing the same visual language and proportions as the Large 1933™ Design, Colossus scales that design up to suit dining rooms and large kitchen spaces, shaping light differently to create mood and atmosphere wherever it hangs.

Cleaning your Vitreous Enamel lampshade
Due to the glasslike Vitreous Enamel finish, the lampshade can easily be cleaned with a soft cloth.
For stubborn marks, a high-quality window/glass cleaner can be applied to the cloth then passed over the lampshade. Care should always be taken to avoid contact with the Coolicon badge.

Finished in the same layers of durable, reflective vitreous enamel as the rest of the range, Colossus offers a gentler, more dispersed downward task light, while its larger vented gallery creates generous ambient up-lighting.

Developed to mimic the early 20th century Standard Coolicon enamel, it's a direct link to our heritage - updated using a refined enamel recipe that changes how light travels through the coloured layers. In sunlight, the Colossus Original Green lampshade displays an intense forest green; as dusk falls, it deepens to near-black.
This ultra-tough, highly reflective vitreous enamel finish is applied layer by layer, protecting the shade's integrity and colour for life. It will never discolour or fade, even in direct sunlight, and we guarantee your Colossus lampshade will look as good ten years on as the day it arrived.
